abstract | Epoxidized fatty acid alkyl esters and epoxidized fatty acid alkyl esters. Such epoxidized fatty acid alkyl esters can be prepared by epoxidizing fatty acid alkyl esters with acids and peroxides. The epoxidation can be carried out in a controlled reaction condition to provide epoxidized fatty acid alkyl ester having from 4 to 15 g I 2/100 g epoxidized fatty acid alkyl esters of the child ohdinga range. Epoxidized fatty acid alkyl esters may be used in the plasticizer composition alone or in combination with other plasticizers such as epoxidized natural oils. Such plasticizers can also be used in the formation of the polymer composition. |
