abstract The present invention relates to an antimicrobial composition comprising a phlorotannin compound derived from Eisenia bicyclis , which is selected from 7-fluoroecol derived from rhubarb, fucofurocon-A, dioxinodihydrococcal, or a mixture thereof Is used as an active ingredient. The compounds of the present invention exhibit antibacterial activity against antibiotic resistant bacteria. In addition, by restoring the antimicrobial activity of MRSA of β-lactam antibiotics such as ampicillin, penicillin, and oxacillin, synergistic effects can be shown by the parallel use with β-lactam antibiotics. Therefore, it can be used as a composition for preventing or treating disease caused by a pathogenic microorganism infection, a composition for animal feed, an animal feed additive, a food, a food additive, a beverage, a cosmetic composition, a cosmetic additive or a detergent.
