titleOfInvention | Magnesium compositions for modulating the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of insulin and insulin analogs, and injection site pain |
abstract | Compositions and methods that regulate the pain of the injection site associated with fast-acting injectable insulin formulations have been developed for subcutaneous injection. The formulations may be formulated with zinc chelates such as ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (" EDTA "), dissolution / stabilizing agents such as citric acid and / or sodium citrate, one or more magnesium compounds and optionally insulin . The new proposals include a method for enhancing absorption by mixing in a container containing an immediate-type enriched insulin formulation and a dry powder excipient to enhance the absorption of commercially available rapid-acting analogous formulations. Also described are devices that mix together the excipient and insulin and minimize the residence time of the mixture. |
