abstract The present invention discloses a composition for improving exercise performance using hexadecaphlorethol ( HdP ), a novel compound isolated from Ishige okamurae , and a compound thereof. The new compound, HdP, induces absorption of glucose, which is an energy source necessary for improving muscle contraction and motility, in an in vitro experiment using C2C12, which is a differentiated source cell. In addition, in animal experiments using zebrafish, Increase the intracellular concentration of calcium ions necessary for improvement, and have an activity of inducing glucose uptake into cells.
