titleOfInvention Ice bag with air release valve for therapeutic treatment
abstract The system 100,300 simultaneously applies compression and cooling to the body part. The ice bag 100 has a detachable cap 140 for inserting ice and removing water. The air bleed valve 180 in the cap 140 allows air to escape from the ice bag 100 without detaching or loosening the cap. The compression wraps 300 are integral sheets 350 made of a resilient material having a central body portion 352 with straps 360, 362, 370 and 372 extending from the central body. A hole 354 in the central body portion 352 receives the neck portion 116 of the ice bag 100, which is located on the body part. The integral central body portion 352 and the straps 360, 362, 270, 372 of the seat 350 apply pressure through the ice bag 100. The air discharged from the melted ice to the ice bag 100 is removed through the air elimination valve 180 without touching the compression lap 300 or the cap 140. [ The compression wraps 300 contract to compensate for the volume of air released, thereby maintaining continuous contact pressure on the body area and thermal contact with the body part.
