titleOfInvention | Novel cleaning method |
abstract | The present invention provides a method and formulation for cleaning a contaminated substrate comprising treating a humidified substrate with a formulation comprising a plurality of polymeric particles comprising at least one antimicrobial agent. Preferably, the substrate is wetted to achieve a substrate to water ratio of 1: 0.1 to 1: 5 w / w. Optionally, the formulation additionally comprises at least one additional detergent, and in this embodiment, it is preferred to mix the polymeric particles with at least one additional detergent. Preferably, the additional cleaning material comprises a surfactant, and most preferably, it has detergent properties. Most preferably, the substrate comprises textile fibers. Typically, the polymeric particles comprise particles of polyester or nylon, most preferably in the form of beads. The results obtained are very similar to those observed in the case of performing conventional aqueous cleaning processes and this method is advantageous in that the use of an antimicrobial agent in polymer beads or on polymer beads prevents fungal and bacterial growth on the surface of polymer particles, Thereby providing a significant advantage of significantly improving overall hygiene within the washing machine. |
