abstract | The present invention provides methods and compositions for inhibiting the polymerization of vinyl aromatic monomers, such as styrene monomers, during their high temperature processing, or during storage or transportation of polymer-containing products. The present composition comprises a combination of a quinone methide derivative (A) and a phenol compound (B). The process comprises adding to the monomer containing medium from about 1 to 10,000 ppm of the combination per million parts monomer. |
