Embodiments described herein relate to a nanoemulsion comprising a botulinum toxin. In one embodiment, the nanoemulsion is prepared by high pressure microfluidization and comprises a particle size distribution entirely between 10 and 300 nm. The nanoemulsion contemplated by the present invention is useful in the cosmetic and medical treatment of muscle build-up conditions. For example, botulinum toxins can relax facial muscles to make skin wrinkles smoother and less noticeable. The present invention also contemplates, for example, a cosmetic formulation which can be self-administered secretly in a home without a doctor's instruction. |
