titleOfInvention | Graft copolymers of polyfarnesenes with condensation polymers |
abstract | The present invention relates to a graft copolymer of polyparnesene and a condensation polymer; And methods of making and using the graft copolymers disclosed herein. The graft copolymer is obtained by reacting a modified polyparnesene obtained from the reaction of a polyparnesene and a modifier in the presence of a grafting initiator with an oligomer. In certain embodiments, the condensation polymer comprises a polyester, a polycarbonate, a polyamide, a polyether, a phenol-formaldehyde resin, a urea-formaldehyde resin, a melamine-formaldehyde resin and combinations thereof. In some embodiments, the polyparnesene comprises a parnesene homopolymer obtained from parnesene and a parnesene interpolymer obtained from parnesene and at least one vinyl monomer. In certain embodiments, parnesene is prepared from sugars using microorganisms. |
