Housing for encasing a tablet computer |
abstract |
The present invention relates to an apparatus and / or system for receiving a device. The device includes a housing, which is configured to be protected from shocks and / or liquid as the device is mounted within the housing. The housing may include an upper member and a lower member that may be releasably coupled together to form the housing. The upper member and the lower member each include a peripheral edge. The periphery is formed by the proximal and distal ends as well as the opposing sides. The upper and lower members may include respective latch mechanisms that may be configured to engage a third latch mechanism, such as a lock comb or wedge feature, extending along the periphery of the upper and lower members. The latching mechanisms are configured to seal the housing with, for example, an impact-resistant and / or watertight seal by coupling the upper and lower members together. |
