Polymer film for protecting glass sheets |
abstract |
The present invention features a method of protecting a glass sheet from scratches and contamination. The first side of the polymer film is placed in contact with the major side of the glass sheet. An additional glass sheet is placed on the polymer film such that the major surface of the glass sheet is in contact with the second side of the film. The first and second sides of the film have a peel value of less than 50 g for the glass sheet and a surface roughness Ra of more than 0.5 microns. The method will prevent scratches on the glass surface from the bottom of the draw during transport and handling in relation to the transfer of glass manufacturing plants and also with customers of the glass processing plant. |
