titleOfInvention | Polyvinyl alcohol resin and method for producing same |
abstract | A polyvinyl alcohol resin which is excellent in handling property and which does not generate residual residues which are dissolved when dissolved in water, and a process for producing the same. The polyvinyl alcohol resin slurry obtained through the polymerization step (step S1) and the impregnation step (step S2) is heated to 100 to 170 degrees so that the contained volatile component is made 1 mass% or less (step S3) . After that, the resin from which the volatile components have been removed is extruded into a strand shape by using a metal mold having a hole having a diameter of 3 to 8 mm, and the resin after extrusion molding is air-cooled or air-cooled until the temperature becomes 45 degrees or less Step S4). Then, the cooled resin is pulverized to obtain rod-shaped particles having a length of 1 to 10 mm and a maximum diameter of 0.5 to 3.0 mm (step S5). |
