A self-wetting porous film comprising an aromatic hydrophobic polymer such as polysulfone and a wetting agent comprising a copolymer of the formula AB or ABA, wherein A has the formula (I): CH 2 = C (R 1 ) (R 2 ), wherein R 1 and R 2 are as described herein, B is an aromatic hydrophobic polymer segment, and segments B and A are hydrophilic segments comprising a polymerized monomer comprising A self-wetting porous membrane is disclosed. Casting a solution containing an aromatic hydrophobic polymer and a wetting agent; A process for producing a self-wetting porous film comprising the step of phase-converting the casted solution is then disclosed. The self-wet porous membrane can be used for hemodialysis, microfiltration, and ultrafiltration. |
