The present invention provides a visible-light-sensitive photocatalyst, which is a metal oxide-carbon composite particle, and a method for producing the same. The photocatalyst is formed by aggregating metal oxide grains including an amorphous carbon layer on the surface, and the amorphous carbon layer includes an ionizable functional group. Since such a photocatalyst has a narrow bandgap, it can respond in a visible light region, and the carbon-based material has an ionizable functional group and can be ionized in a polar solvent such as wastewater, thereby greatly improving the dispersion. |
