abstract | Disclosed is a peptide having an activity of inhibiting infection of respiratory virus, its use, and a method of producing the same. The peptide can be synthesized by a chemical or genetic engineering method, has a functional domain capable of binding to the surface glycoprotein of respiratory virus, and has an activity of inhibiting the infection of the respiratory virus. The peptides are useful for blocking infection of respiratory viruses in target cells, preventing / treating such infections, and also for developing new preventive / therapeutic drugs for respiratory viruses. Also included are isolated DNA encoding any of the above peptides, an expression vector comprising said DNA operably linked to a promoter, a host cell comprising said expression vector, and a kit for screening said infection-inhibiting peptide And the screening method. The present invention also discloses the mechanism of said peptides in the inhibition of said infections providing the theoretical backing for developing new prophylactic / therapeutic agents with broad spectrum antiviral activity. |
