abstract | The present invention relates to a process for preparing an isocyanate homopolymer containing uretdione groups, wherein a homopolymerization reaction of a starting isocyanate is catalyzed by using a phosphinoboron compound of the formula (I) as a catalyst, whereby an isocyanate having a uretdione group A solution of the homopolymer is obtained, and then the solution is separated to obtain an isocyanate homopolymer containing uretdione groups.
