abstract | Disclosed is a multifunctional polymerizable ionic liquid comprising a cationic group in which at least two ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable groups are each bonded via a divalent non-alkyl linking group, and an anion. The multifunctional linking groups independently comprise a heteroatom, for example oxygen or nitrogen. The linking groups may independently comprise one or more bonds, for example, an amide, urea, or ether linkage, and more typically a urethane or ester linkage. Ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable groups are typically (meth) acrylate groups. Coated and coated articles are also disclosed. |
