abstract | I) at least one Group VIII metal compound, and iv) a) tetraethylene glycol, b) from about 200 to about 400, more preferably from about 200 to about 400, C) a mixture of tetraethylene glycol and a polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight in the range of from about 200 to about 400, or d) a mixture of (1) tetraethylene glycol and / or a polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight in the range of from about 200 to about 400 A polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight, and (2) an additive which is a mixture of at least one of monoethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, and triethylene glycol, to form a first solution. The molar ratio of additive to total moles of Group VI metals and Group VIII metals is greater than 0.30: 1, and the atomic ratio of phosphorous to Group VI metals is at least about 0.33: 1. Optionally, the primary solution is heated to a temperature above about < RTI ID = 0.0 > 40 C < / RTI > The heating solution is optionally cooled to form a cooling solution. Also provided are compositions formed by the above methods, methods of forming catalyst compositions from these compositions, and catalyst compositions formed by these methods. |
