Solution containing hypochlorous acid and methods of using same |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a low pH antimicrobial solution comprising hypochlorous acid, water and optionally a buffer. The low pH antimicrobial solutions of the present invention have a pH of from about 4 to about 6 and are useful for treating damaged and damaged tissues and disinfecting surfaces. The present invention also provides a chemical method for the preparation of a low pH antimicrobial solution in which a chlorine gas is added to a buffer solution containing a buffer and water. The present invention also provides an electrochemical method for preparing a low pH antimicrobial solution. |
