Embodiments of the present invention are directed to polycrystalline diamond ("PCD") which exhibit improved diamond-to-diamond bonding. In one embodiment, the PCD comprises a plurality of diamond particles defining a plurality of interstitial zones. The metal solvent catalyst fills at least a portion of the plurality of interstitial spaces. The plurality of diamond particles and metal solvent catalysts collectively exhibit a coercivity of about 115 oersted ("Oe") or greater and a non-magnetic saturation of about 15 gauce cm3 / gram (G ยท cm3 / g) or less. Another embodiment relates to polycrystalline diamond compacts ("PDCs") employing such PCDs, methods of forming PCDs and PDCs, and application of such PCDs and PDCs to rotary drill bits, bearing devices and wire drawing die. |
