abstract The present invention relates to an arylation process for ethers or alcohols via C (sp 3 ) -H bond activity. More particularly, the present invention relates to an arylation process for the etherification of aldehydes or alcohols with -B OH) 2 can be synthesized by reacting a phenol having no functional group such as -OH (OH) 2 with a transition metal catalyst to form a new type of sp 3 CH bond. Such an arylation method requires addition of a -B (OH) 2 functional group to the benzene ring There is an advantage that a phenol derivative or a naphthalene derivative which is commercially available can be reacted to directly connect an ether or an alcohol to a benzene ring containing an OH group.
