Radiation protective composition comprising polysaccharide from fermented Ishige okamurae |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a radiation protective composition including polysaccharide isolated from fermented Ishige okamurae, to a radiation protective pharmaceutical composition including the composition, and to a radiation protective food composition. The radiation protective composition of the present invention has an effect in removing hydroxyl radicals and DPPH radicals which are harmful active oxygen generated by radiation, and has effects in suppressing ROS generation, NO generation, and control of cell death levels of zebrafish by radiation. Moreover, Ishige okamurae does not have a side effect when being used as a food, and thus is safe to a human body and can be useful in various operation environments having worries about being exposed to radiation. |
