abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing water-compatible nanoparticles. In particular, the present invention provides a method for producing liquid-phase semiconductor nanoparticles by combining pre-modified ligands without the need for post-binding modification to produce water-compatible semiconductor nanoparticles . Nanoparticles prepared by this method have improved fluorescence and stability compared to methods that require post-binding modification, a method that has been used in the past.
