abstract The present invention provides a hepatoprotectant acetaminophen common prodrug having an acetaminophen moiety covalently linked to a second moiety that can act as a hepatoprotectant against acetaminophen liver toxicity. In addition, acetaminophen common prodrugs may have improved aqueous solubility that can provide better compatibility with parenteral and other formulations compared to acetaminophen administration. Also provided are methods of treating a disease or condition (e.g., fever, pain and ischemic injury) responsive to acetaminophen using a liver protector acetaminophen common prodrug, and kit and unit dose.
