abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a phase difference element which is excellent in heat resistance, has a small change in retardation value in a high temperature atmosphere, and can maintain stable optical performance. The present invention is characterized by containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a compound represented by the following formula (1), a compound represented by the following formula (2) and a compound represented by the following formula (3) .
