abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing a transgenic plant having adjusted plant disease resistance by using a decrease wax (DEWAX) gene derived from Arabidopsis thaliana, and to a plant produced through the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to: a method for adjusting disease resistance of a plant, wherein the method comprises a step of adjusting expression of a DEWAX gene by transforming a recombinant vector including a gene for coding a DEWAX protein derived from Arabidopsis thaliana to a plant cell; a method for producing a transgenic plant having adjusted plant disease resistance by transforming a recombinant vector including a gene for coding the DEWAX protein to a plant cell; a transgenic plant produced through the method to have adjust plant disease resistance, and a seed of the same; a plant disease resistance adjusting composition including a gene for coding the DEWAX protein as an active ingredient; and a mutant plant having increased plant disease resistance by inhibiting expression of a gene for coding the DEWAX protein. Accordingly, when the method of the present invention is used, plant disease resistance is increased. Thus, the method of the present invention can be very useful in applying a new functional plant having improved production efficiency and a biomass.
