titleOfInvention | Pharmaceutical Composition for Treating Cancer Comprising 2-Methoxy-4-(3-(4-Methoxyphenyl)Prop-1-en-1-yl)Phenol As Active Ingredient |
abstract | The present invention relates to a novel compound 2-methoxy-4- (3- (4-methoxyphenyl) propyl-1-en-1-yl) phenol. The compounds of the present invention effectively inhibit the growth of cancer cells and tumors in in vitro and xenograft models. The compound of the present invention inhibits DNA binding activity of the transcription factor STAT3 in cancer cells, induces apoptosis of cancer cells, and exhibits anticancer activity by decreasing the expression of cell cycle regulating proteins. The compounds of the present invention can be developed as active ingredients of potent anti-cancer agents. |
