| abstract |
An improved method for remineralization in a desalination system is disclosed. According to the present method, the carbon dioxide gas (CO 2 ) is isolated from the seawater or concentrate (brine) of the desalination process through the gas delivery membrane. This dioxin carbon gas (CO 2 ) is then used for the production of soluble calcium bicarbonate (Ca (HCO 3 ) 2 ). This calcium bicarbonate (Ca (HCO 3 ) 2 ) imparts hardness and alkalinity to the resulting treated water. |
