| abstract |
The permanently closed leak-proof panties include a stretchable chassis and a sling located within the chassis. The sling is connected to the front waist area and the back waist area. The sling includes a fluid-impermeable base sheet and a leak-barrier flap associated with the base sheet to create a fluid-impermeable pouch. The sling also includes a first transition portion and a second transition portion that can be stretched in a longitudinal direction and in a transverse direction. The base sheet is a fabric laminated with polyurethane, and the leakproof flap is a fabric laminated with polyurethane. The polyurethane surface of the base sheet is ultrasonically bonded in face-to-face relationship with the polyurethane surface of the leak-barrier flap. The permanently closed leak-proof panty is substantially devoid of integral absorbent core. |
