titleOfInvention Puncture indicating gloves
abstract Surgical gloves have internal and external surfaces. At least one of the surfaces is treated with a treatment consisting of a non-ionic hydrocarbon solution having a hydrophilic functional group having a pH in the range of from 4.5 to 6.5 with a carbon chain in the range of 8 to 16 carbons. After the treatment, the treated surface or surfaces are dried, the glove is packaged, and then irradiated. The treatment is to control the initial contact angle of the surface to less than 70 degrees so that the liquid material quickly spreads through the treated surface or surfaces and thus the presence of liquid indicating that the glove has come to a state of congestion, Visible to the observer.
