abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for preparing an optical coating formulation comprising: a) preparing an optical coating formulation comprising a solvent component and a film-forming component; b) forming a coated substrate by applying an optical coating to the substrate using a die applicator, wherein the applied optical coating forms a wet film having a thickness of 8 [mu] m to 100 [mu] m; And c) drying the coated substrate in a substantially horizontal state to convert the wet film into a dry film having a thickness of less than 1 [mu] m. Optical coating formulations comprise greater than 0.3 weight percent to less than 10 weight percent based on the total weight of the optical coating formulation. The coated substrate can be optically cured. |
