titleOfInvention | Improved hydrogenation process |
abstract | The present invention provides an improved hydrogenation process in which heat is effectively managed to optimize catalyst productivity. More specifically, in the process of the present invention, a non-aqueous solvent is added to the reactants to provide a non-aqueous solvent / reactant mixture that can act as a heat sink and absorb at least a portion of the heat generated within the reactor. Preferably, a reaction product, or a solvent having a minimum of hydroxy groups, is used to minimize unwanted by-products. |
