abstract The system and method processes time information including at least one object in motion. The visual information is processed by locating at least one spatial edge of the object, generating a plurality of space-time warps for at least one spatial edge over N frames, and then generating motion blur images from space-time warps . Regression analysis is performed on motion blur images to determine the orientation of the object's motion information, and scene motion vectors are then generated for N frames based on the orientation of the motion information. The event is detected in the visual information based on scene motion vectors.
