The present invention provides a nucleic acid molecule comprising an oligopeptide compound comprising a PCNA interacting motif or a sequence encoding said oligopeptide compound for use in therapy wherein said PCNA interaction motif is X 1 X 2 X 3 X 3 ' X 1' (SEQ ID NO: 1), X 1 And X 1 ' are independently selected from basic amino acid groups, X 2 is a lipophilic amino acid, X 3 And X 3 ' is independently selected from the group of uncharged amino acids, wherein the oligopeptide compound further comprises: (i) the oligopeptide compound comprises at least one signal sequence; (ii) the PCNA interacting motif is specified as one or more of [K / R] -F- [LIV] - [LIV] - [K / R] (SEQ ID NO: 27). In particular, the treatment may be a disease or condition in which it is desired to inhibit the growth of cells, such as treatment of an hyperproliferative disorder, or a cell proliferation inhibition therapy, such as a therapy involving bone marrow erasure. In certain aspects, the compounds of the invention may themselves be used as cell proliferation inhibitors. In another aspect of the invention, the oligopeptide compound comprising the motif may be used in combination with a cell proliferation inhibitor or radiation therapy. |
