titleOfInvention | Device and method for granulation of a metal melt |
abstract | The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for granulating a metal melt. The apparatus comprises a substantially round water tank, wherein water is injected into the water tank in a tangential direction by a plurality of nozzles so that the water in the tank rotates and forms a parabolic surface. The nozzles are arranged at a constant height on the circumference of the tank wall. The top nozzle is located in the area of the water surface and creates a water jet or water pocket that rests on the water surface. To granulate the metal melt, the melt is continuously injected from the melting crucible into the water jets or water pockets of the top nozzle. |
