abstract A gas sensor capable of selectively responding to methylbenzene gas and a method of manufacturing the same. The gas sensor according to the invention comprises a gas-sensitive layer is a palladium (Pd) - doped tin oxide (SnO 2) structure yolk powder (Pd-loaded SnO 2 yolk shell spheres). Such gas sensors exhibit very high selectivity and sensitivity to methylbenzene gas such as xylene and toluene, while being insignificant in sensitivity to benzene, formaldehyde, alcohol and the like.
