abstract The present invention relates to a method for producing an electrically conductive thin film on a substrate. Initially, the reducible metal compound and the reducing agent are dispersed in a liquid, such as water. The dispersion is then deposited on the substrate as a thin film. The thin film is then exposed to the pulsed electromagnetic radiation with the substrate and the reducible metal compound and the reducing agent chemically react so that the thin film becomes electrically conductive.
