The present invention provides materials and methods for promoting weight loss or preventing weight gain, and materials and methods for the treatment of diabetes, metabolic syndrome and related disorders. In particular, the present invention provides novel glucagon analog peptides effective in such methods. The peptides can mediate their effects by having increased selectivity for GLP-1 receptors as compared to human glucagon. |
