titleOfInvention Material combinations for a pedicle screw assembly
abstract The present invention relates to a pedicle screw assembly for positioning an elongate member within a patient. The assembly includes a receiving portion having a channel and a chamber sized to receive the elongate member. The assembly also includes an anchor having a head sized to fit within the chamber. The assembly includes a compression member sized to fit within the chamber and having a first surface facing the head and a second surface facing the receiving portion. At least one of the receiving portion, the anchor and the compression member is made of the first material and at least one of the receiving portion, the anchor and the compression member can be made of the second material. The first and second materials include different elastic moduli to prevent assembly deformation.
