titleOfInvention | Processes for Synthesis of Fluorinated Olefins |
abstract | In a fluorinated olefin, and in a particularly preferred embodiment, a process for the synthesis of tetrafluoro olefins, for example 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, with F at the unsaturated, non-terminal carbon has been found. A preferred method of the present invention by one embodiment comprises the steps of (a) reacting a compound of formula (I), X 1 X 2 (I) with a compound of formula (II), CX 1 X 2 X 3 CX 1 = CX 1 X 2 With a compound to produce a reaction product comprising a compound of formula (III), CF 3 CHX 1 CH 2 X 2 (III); And (b) exposing the compound of formula (III) to a reaction condition effective to convert the compound of formula (III) to a compound of formula (IV), CF 3 CZ = CH 2 (IV) Wherein X 1 , X 2 and X 3 are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, fluorine and iodine, with the proviso that in the formula (I), X 1 and X 2 are both hydrogen And Z is Cl, I, Br, or F. |
