abstract |
The invention relates to a polarizing optical element comprising a transparent optical element element (1) and a layered calliper (2) comprising a polarizing film (2a). The polarizing film contains a dichroic dye and is uniaxially oriented. The layered structure is bonded to the optical base element by the layered structure 3 including at least the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. By the use of a pressure sensitive adhesive, the polarizing film 2a maintains a high polarization efficiency during bonding and optical quality that is in particular compatible with various uses of optical elements, such as ophthalmic applications. |
