titleOfInvention | Ophthalmic compositions based on tamarind seed polysaccharide and hyaluronic acid |
abstract | The present invention relates to an ophthalmic solution containing a combination of hyaluronic acid and a polysaccharide known as TSP ( Tamarindus indica Seed Polysaccharide) and prescribed for use as a tear substitute, which, when administered in combination, Promotes the return of the conjunctival mucosa damaged by dry eye syndrome to steady state and may therefore act synergistically to induce a significant improvement in the number and shape of conjunctival microvilli. These ophthalmic preparations proposed for use in the treatment of dry eye syndrome include 0.05 to 2% by weight of tamarind seed polysaccharide (TSP) and 0.05 to 1% by weight of hyaluronic acid in combination in aqueous solution. |
