titleOfInvention Optical electro-mechanical hearing devices with separate power and signal components
abstract A device for transmitting a voice signal includes at least one light source configured to transmit a voice signal with at least one wavelength of light. The at least one detector is configured to detect a voice signal and to generate at least one electrical signal in response to light of at least one wavelength. The transducer is configured to be supported on at least one of the eardrum, bone or cochlea to vibrate it. An active circuit is coupled to the transducer and drives the transducer in response to the at least one electrical signal to provide a high quality sound to the user.
