abstract | A single free standing microtube of poly (methyl methacrylate) / polypyrrole (PMMA / PPy) is prepared by a meniscus-inducing method. First, the outward flow of liquid by rapid solvent evaporation induces the formation of a ring-shaped PMMA / PPy nanoparticle deposit in the meniscus solution. The directional induction of meniscus induces permanent PMMA / PPy nanoparticle deposition on the ring-shaped PMMA / PPy nanoparticle deposit formed first, which results in the formation of a single composite microtube with controlled outer diameter and wall thickness. The meniscus-inducing can produce a freestanding microtube array having individually adjusted sizes at desired locations. The PMMA / PPy microtube is integrated on the electrode to realize a separately positioned gas sensor. |
