Disclosed are compounds having the following general formula comprising a rifamycin derivative having antibacterial activity. Wherein: R is hydrogen or acetyl, R 1 and R 2 is hydrogen, (C 1 -4) alkyl, benzyloxy, mono- and di - (C 1 -3) alkylamino - (C 1 -4) alkyl, (C 1 -3) alkoxy, ( C 1 -4 ) alkyl, hydroxy-methyl, hydroxy- (C 2 -4 ) -alkyl, and nitro; or R 1 and R 2 are independently selected from the group consisting of two consecutive carbon atoms of the pyridine nucleus and optionally one or two methyl or ethyl groups to form a benzene ring which is optionally substituted, R 3 together is a hydroxyalkyl (C 1 -4). Also disclosed are methods for obtaining the compounds. These compounds have antibacterial activity. |
