titleOfInvention Method for Detecting Nucleic Acids and Biomolecules by Using Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles Having Oxidase Activity
abstract The present invention relates to a method for detecting a nucleic acid using a chromogenic reaction phenomenon caused by cerium oxide nanoparticles having an oxidase activity. More particularly, when a nucleic acid amplification product is present, The present invention relates to a method for easily detecting a target nucleic acid using a phenomenon that adsorbs and aggregates nanoparticles and interacts with a chromogenic reaction substrate to thereby inhibit the catalytic action of the cerium oxide nanoparticles and thereby reduce the color reaction. The method for detecting nucleic acid using cerium oxide nanoparticles according to the present invention can detect the target nucleic acid easily within 1 to 2 minutes and provide a cerium oxide nanoparticle-based color sensor using the nucleic acid detection method, Related apparatuses and systems, and is useful because it can be widely used for diagnosis of various causative microbial infections, genetically modified organisms (GMO) tests, forensic investigation, and the like. In addition, the detection method using the cerium oxide nanoparticles according to the present invention can be applied not only to detection of nucleic acid but also to detection of other biomaterials and chemicals.
