abstract | A magnesium halide adduct represented by the following formula (I) is disclosed: MgX 2 .mROH nE pH 2 O (I) wherein X is chlorine, bromine, C 1 -C 12 alkoxy, C 3 -C 10 Cycloalkoxy or C 6 -C 10 aryloxy, provided that at least one X is chlorine or bromine, R is C 1 -C 12 alkyl, C 3 -C 10 cycloalkyl or C 6 -C 10 aryl, E is Alkoxybenzoate compound represented by the following formula (II): < EMI ID = In the formula, the R 1 and R 2 groups are independently C 1 -C 12 linear or branched alkyl, C 3 -C 10 cycloalkyl, C 6 -C 10 aryl, C 7 -C 10 alkaryl or C 7 -C 10 aralkyl, the R < 1 > and R < 2 > groups are the same as or different from the R group; m ranges from 1.0 to 5.0; n ranges from 0.001 to 0.5; p ranges from 0 to 0.8).
