abstract The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting angiogenesis, comprising an inhibitor of NUP153 gene expression or an inhibitor of NUP153 activity, and a method for screening a substance for preventing or treating angiogenesis using NUP153 gene or NUP153. According to the present invention, suppression of NUP153 gene expression or inhibition of NUP153 activity reduces the release of mRNA of the angiogenic factors (VEGF, HGF and bFGF) from the nucleus. In addition, suppression of NUP153 gene expression or inhibition of NUP153 activity inhibits angiogenesis by inhibiting invasion and tubular formation without toxicity. Therefore, the composition of the present invention can be used for preventing or treating various diseases, diseases or conditions related to angiogenesis, and the screening method of the present invention has an advantage that it can be used for finding a substance for the prevention or treatment of a new angiogenic disease .
