abstract |
An intrauterine system for maintaining a biologically active compound in the uterus of a female mammal is formed by a frame that defines an internal space for receiving a deposit of the compound. The frame has an open structure that allows access to a substantial portion of the outer surface of the deformate, and the deformity has a rate controlling structure that regulates the rate of release of the compound in the uterus. The retaining component is provided on the frame for retention of the frame in the uterus. |
