titleOfInvention Distillation of ionic liquids
abstract The present invention relates to a process for distilling a mixture containing a salt (ionic liquid) having a melting point of less than 200 DEG C at 1 bar. The method is characterized in that the cation of the ionic liquid contains a heterocyclic ring system having at least one nitrogen atom and all the nitrogen atoms of the heterocyclic ring system have an organic group as a substituent. Further, the anion of the ionic liquid is a compound having at least one carboxylate group (simply carboxylate) or at least one phosphate group (simple phosphate). During distillation, the distance between the surface (evaporation surface) on which distillation heat is supplied and the surface (condenser surface) on which condensation occurs is less than 50 cm above one point and the length of the evaporator and condenser surface itself is at least 50 cm.
